Investing in a greener fleet
Our strategy focuses on enhancing our fleet with energy-efficient, and eco-friendly vessels with flexible capacity that deliver both environmental and economic benefits. By optimizing both capacity and efficiency, these advanced ships allow transport of higher cargo volumes with fewer voyages while significantly reducing total emissions – enabling our customers to lower their logistics carbon footprint.
Innovations for a Cleaner Future
- Biofuelled vessels: Achieving major emission reductions ‘from field to funnel’.
- Multi-fuel LNG battery hybrid-powered vessels: Our three new hybrid newbuilds, delivered from 2021, position UECC among the first in the industry to exceed the IMO’s 2030 carbon-intensity reduction target of 40%.
- Ballast water treatment systems: Installed across our fleet well ahead of IMO requirements to protect marine ecosystems.
- Cold-ironing technology: Our newbuilds are equipped for shore-power connections, and we are working with key ports to implement cold ironing projects that eliminate emissions while docked.
