UECC has made a Christmas donation on behalf of our employees to WWF and their work for clean oceans around the world.

WWF is striving to safeguard the natural world, helping people live more sustainably and take action against climate change. They spend a lot of time working with communities, with politicians and with businesses to find solutions so people and nature can thrive.

Every minute 15 tons of plastic goes into the sea – 80% of that amount comes from land and 20% comes from sea based activities (like fishing, petroleum industry and shipping).

Our donation will aid WWF´s goals, working for:

• a global and legally  binding agreement on plastic waste in the sea
• to put in place good waste management systems, especially in developing countries
• to have a mandatory manufacturer responsibility for all plastic producers by 2021
