Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak and the impact on UECC’s liner trading network – suspension of UECC’s service to Italy

The situation with the coronavirus/COVID-19 is becoming quite serious, and especially in Italy with the lock down of the northern part of the country, where UECC is calling the ports of Savona and Livorno with the North-South service.

UECC has been monitoring the situation in Italy closely during the past weeks, in order to detect signs of congestion in the ports and terminals due to lack, or reduced evacuation, of cargo.  This has unfortunately now come to a point where we are forced to suspend our service to the Italian ports, effective with the sailing of our M/V Coral Leader voyage SNO20012, loading in Bremerhaven today, and until further notice.

Changes to the UECC liner network comes with a tremendous high cost for UECC and we urge you to immediately contact UECC when/if you have information concerning disruptions in your   flows.  We believe that we have a common responsibility to find solutions and cost mitigations in these very challenging times.

We will continue to monitor the situation in the Italian ports very closely, and continuously evaluate the possibility to reinstate our service as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for your understanding and please do not hesitate to contact us any time should you have any questions regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

For UECC
