Update - SPANISH PORTS STEVEDORING CONFLICT

23.05 - Postpone on the start of strike

Oslo, Norway - 23.05.2017

To Whom It May Concern:

Further to our Information Letter of 15.05.2017 updating the Spanish Ports Stevedoring Conflict due to the EU Competition Ruling and Liberalization mandate, please find below an update on the “Conflict Status”:

After their meeting at 1600hrs yesterday on 22nd May, after reaching an initial agreement with the Stevedoring companies Association, ANESCO, the main Stevedoring Union “COORDINADORA” have postponed the start of the strike.

The strike has been postponed until the month of June, thus cancelling the strike announced for 24th, 26th, 29th  and 31st May.

UECC is proactively keeping in close contact with Customers, Port Operators, Port Authorities and all required parties to mitigate and minimise the impact of this challenging situation.

Please rest assured, that you will be punctually informed of any mutually required corrective and preventive actions, and hopefully the positive development of the upcoming negotiations.

Yours Sincerely,

Helen Bjerke Olafsen
