COVID-19 outbreak and the impact on UECC’s liner trading network – General update

Almost all the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the European automotive industry have now, or will within the next few days, suspend their production.  It is uncertain when the production will resume, but UECC’s view on this is that it will take some time.  However, we are in close contact with all our customers and will monitor the situation closely.

The production stoppage will have a significant impact on UECC’s liner trading network, and we ask for your understanding during this very challenging period. We will continue to operate our network as long as there is sufficient cargo, but with reduced sailing frequency. As there are changes from hour to hour, it is difficult to issue a new complete fleet schedule.  However, we are working on this and will do this as soon as possible. 

We have been through major crisis before, but not of a magnitude like this, but as UECC we will overcome this one also.  In the meantime we will take swift actions to mitigate this.  If you have any needs for any irregular shipments as a result of this crisis, please let us know.  Let’s support each other during this challenging time!

As stated above, we are monitoring the situation closely and will resume our normal liner trading network when the production resume.  However, we ask for your patience in this respect, as it will take some time to deploy our fleet into the required ports.
